California adds a four-hour gun course and targets 3D-printed guns

Developing Confirmed

Gov. Gavin Newsom on Saturday signed 10 gun bills, which CalMatters describes as his last gun-control measures as governor. One requires people seeking California's firearm safety certificate to complete a course of at least four hours, including live fire, starting in 2029. Another requires consumer 3D printers sold in the state to block attempts to print guns. A third adds a 10-year gun ban for a misdemeanor involving guns with altered serial numbers. Gun-safety groups praised the package. The California Rifle and Pistol Association called the mandatory course a possible infringement on Second Amendment rights.
