County Administration Center renovation wins national preservation award

Developing Confirmed

The rehabilitation of the San Diego County Administration Center has won a Richard H. Driehaus Foundation National Preservation Award, one of six honors for the project, the County said. The National Trust for Historic Preservation, which presents the awards, said that in 2019 aging systems and seismic limitations threatened both public operations and the historic fabric of the 315,000-square-foot waterfront building, which dates to 1938. The renovation restored historic materials and finishes while modernizing the building's systems. The County's announcement did not give the project's cost.
