First North County EMS Corps class graduates 18

Developing Confirmed

Eighteen young adults have graduated from San Diego County Fire's first North County Emergency Medical Services Corps class, following two earlier graduating classes at Southwestern College in February and June. The 20-week program at Palomar College trains people ages 18 to 26 to become emergency medical technicians and earn a California EMT card, with up to 12 college credits, hands-on scenarios and support from case managers and mentors. The San Diego Workforce Partnership helped fund the North County expansion. Applications are closed for now but will reopen soon; applicants must live in California and meet the program's background requirements.
