IPO money quintupled in the first half, mostly on one deal

Developing Confirmed

U.S. issuers raised more than $137 billion through 208 initial public offerings in the first half of 2026, up from 180 IPOs raising about $27 billion a year earlier, the SEC's economists reported. Most of that roughly fivefold jump came from one deal: SpaceX's offering of about $86 billion, according to FTI Consulting. Without it, first-half IPO proceeds would still be nearly double last year's, by TDD's calculation. Follow-on offerings rose to 557, raising more than $111 billion, from 505 raising nearly $84 billion.
