What shoppers at 54 Midwest locations should know about the Gold Star recall

Developing Confirmed

Sept. 23, 2026 — Shelf-stable products from Gold Star Distribution's Minneapolis warehouse went to 54 stores, restaurants and other locations, all but two in Minnesota, with one each in Fargo, N.D., and Indianapolis. The company's December recall covered nearly 2,000 items it had held, including cereal, candy, sauces, pet food, over-the-counter medicines, cosmetics and dietary supplements; frozen and refrigerated items shipped directly by manufacturers were excluded. One location on the list is an adult day care center in Minneapolis. The recall asks anyone holding the products to destroy them rather than return them, and to send proof of destruction to Gold Star for a refund. No illnesses had been reported. The full location and product lists are on the FDA's website.

The wall: Whether the recall notice reached shoppers in languages other than English is not known.

Tier: Confirmed (halal omitted under SPJ relevance test; adult day care kept)
