Cholera spreads in Congo as the country fights Ebola in the east, WHO says
Oct. 14, 2026 — Congo has reported more than 51,412 suspected cholera cases and 1,487 deaths in 21 provinces this year, as it also battles Ebola in the east, the World Health Organization said, UN News reported. Weekly cases rose to 2,932 in late September from 2,506. South Kivu, North Kivu and Haut-Katanga account for nearly 60% of cases, and insecurity limits access in parts of the east.
