Oct. 11, 2026 — This updates our Oct. 10 report on the Riyadh airport attack. That report said no deaths had been reported; Saudi authorities have since said the strike killed at least 12 people and wounded more than 300. India's embassy said an injured Indian citizen died on Oct. 11, raising the toll to 13, Reuters reported. Saudi authorities said the dead included four Saudis, two Bangladeshis and one each from the United States, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Sudan and Egypt.

Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree claimed the attack in a televised speech, along with attacks on Dammam's airport and two Saudi Aramco facilities. Saudi Arabia's media office and Aramco did not comment on the Aramco claims.

On Oct. 11, the Saudi-led coalition said an "unidentified projectile" struck Terminal 4 at Riyadh's airport, causing a fire and injuries. The civil aviation authority later confirmed a strike on Dammam's King Fahd International Airport. The coalition called the Oct. 10 attack a "full-fledged war crime," Al Jazeera reported.

The Houthis said Saudi Arabia carried out 124 air strikes in Yemen in 24 hours, including on Sanaa and Saada. Riyadh's airport remained closed, and the city's schools moved to remote learning.

The wall: The number hurt on Oct. 11, the Aramco claims and the Houthis' count of Saudi strikes were not independently confirmed.

Tier: Reported (based on Reuters' and Al Jazeera's accounts of Saudi, Indian and Houthi statements)
